Landtech Data Corporation was founded in 1978 and incorporated in 1986. Landtech offered the first real estate settlement system for the Personal Computer. In fact, Landtech advertised in the September, 1981 issue of TITLE NEWS (ALTA) its availability on the IBM Personal Business Computer.

Since those early beginnings Landtech has become the nation's largest provider of real estate settlement systems to a whole host of users engaged in the real estate/loan closing process.

Mr. Wyatt Bell, President, at the 1979 ALTA Conference in San Francisco, CA, where he introduced the Landtech Settlement System. Wyatt had been programming the Landtech Settlement System for more than 18 months prior to it's introduction while running his own title insurance agency.

Note the TRS-80 Model I computer. This first system had no lower-case characters or color. It had only 32K of memory with 2 160k 5.25 inch floppy drives. This was 7 years before Microsoft would go public and more than 2 years prior to the introduction of the IBM PC, which would revolutionize the workplace.
